Mazariner

These little almond tarts are baked in crimped metal forms here in Sweden. They are made in two parts, a crust and a filling, with a powdered sugar glaze on top. Makes 12-16 tarts
Crust
1 1/2 cups of flour
3 tablespoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
slightly less than 1/2 cup margarine
1 egg
Filling
1 1/4 cup almond paste
1/4 teaspoon bitter almond extract
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup melted margarine
2 large eggs
Press the crust into tart forms. Dip your fingers into water and the dough will not stick to you. Fill the crusts and bake the tarts at 350 degrees for about 15-18 minutes. When they are cool, pour powdered sugar glaze over them, a cup of powdered sugar stirred with a couple tablespoons of cold water. Enjoy!
